Setting up your email client

Standard Microsoft Windows clients

Windows XP – Outlook Express

Windows Vista – MS Mail

Windows 7 – No mail client shipped, most common is to download and install Windows Live Mail.

 

Mac OS X Mail, Entourage,  

 

 

 

You should have the following information from Isoblue, if not please contact Isoblue Technical Support :

Incoming mail (POP3) : email.yourdomain.com

Outgoing mail (SMTP): email.yourdomain.com

username: myname@yourdomain.com

password: xyz123

Configuring the email client

Generally all Microsoft email client software follow these configuration steps, although depending on which client software you have the order and options may be slightly different.

 

  1. Start the client software (Outlook Express, MS Mail or Windows Live Mail), and on the Tools menu, click Accounts
  2. Click Add, and then click Mail. At this point a wizard will step you through the configuration, you will need to enter the following (The order may be different depending on the software)
  3. Enter your Display name, type your name as you want it to appear to everyone who gets e-mail from you. Most people use their full name, but you can use any name, even a nickname that people will recognize.
  4. Enter your password.
  5. Enter your email address.
  6. Set the Mail server type to POP3 for incoming mail, and enter the address. The port should be 110 (default).
  7. Login ID should be set to the same as your email address.
  8. Set the address for Outgoing mail server, the port if possible should be set to 587.
  9. Check “My outgoing server requires authentication”

Important Steps

Before your perform a “send and receive all mail” or a “sync” There are some setting to check.

  1. If you could not set the outgoing mail server port, you will need to go in to Tools, Account, Properties, Advanced. Set the port on Outgoing mail (SMTP) to 587
  2. Under Delivery, tick the check box for “leave a copy of messages on the server”
  3. Next there are to options to either delete the messages from the server after X amount of days or you can set them to delete when you clear mail from “deleted items”
